Welcome to the 34th Festival du Bois!

Maillardville's Music & Culture Festival

Join us March 24 – 26 in Mackin Park to experience brilliant music and dance concerts, shows where you can dance along, special performances for kids and families, workshops, roving on-site performers, delicious French Canadian food, artisan and exhibit booths – and more!

Visit the Métis Village Experience on-site for performances and stories – and an opportunity to learn more about Métis history, tradition and rich and dynamic culture.

Come to the Grand Chapiteau for concerts by Les Grands Hurleurs – the “great howlers” – playing traditional Québécois music that’s bursting with new ideas; sensational Senegalese soul-rocker, Élage Diouf; hip-swivelling, dance-floor-filling Brazilian dance music from Forró do Cana; Québécois music power trio, Genticorum; BC’s own Métis Jiggers;  La Famille Léger’s French-Canadian and Acadian tunes, along with the galvanizing dance of Podorythmie; and, celebrating 50 years, Maillardville-based francophone choir, Les Échos du Pacifique.

As a bonus, we have some wonderful pre-festival events lined up. Join us and get in the Festival spirit!

In the Children’s Tent (Petit Chapiteau), see shows by Madame DivaWill & SeekaSeeka Sings, and Véronique’s Conte d’Afrique avec Mulungie. There are more surprises on site, too!

You're cordially invited to revel in an ambiance of friendship and warmth. Welcome to Maillardville, the cradle of francophone culture in BC. Help us celebrate Société francophone de Maillardville’s 40th anniversary!

Métis Village Experience

Visit the Métis Village Experience at Festival du Bois to enjoy, explore, learn and appreciate the rich Métis history, art, culture, perspectives, language and tradition that have been part of this country for over 200 years.

In this very special part of the festival, and under the guidance of elders, artists, musicians and other knowledgeable community members, you will experience some of the rich and dynamic Métis culture. Expect to see musicians, dancers, storytellers, craftspeople, artisans and more.

Festival du Bois is excited to be partnering with the North Fraser Métis Association to offer you a glimpse into the Métis experience in British Columbia.

Come by, stop for a while, and share in the Métis spirit!

Geneviève Kyle-Lefebvre and the entire podcast team were at the Festival du Bois. Live or relive the experience by listening to Geneviève walking around the festival meeting reviewers, spectators and artists, including exclusive interviews with Le Diable à 5 and the Winston Band!

We acknowledge that Festival du Bois is taking place on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem First Nation). We thank the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm who continue to live on these lands and care for them, along with the waters and all that is above and below.
