To celebrate the World Acadian Congress, coming to The Maritimes next August, join us at 6:30pm for a concert with our Acadian friends from Seattle, La Famille Léger, followed by a performance by Vishtèn, 7th generation Acadians from Prince Edward Island. At 7:00pm, participate in the glorious commotion of the “Tintamarre.” Tintamarre is an Acadian tradition of marching through one’s community making noise with improvised instruments and other noisemakers in celebration of National Acadian Day. Today it also honours the vibrancy of the Acadian community all over the world on August 15th every year. The word tintamarre means “clamour” or “din.” Bring your own pots and pans, join in the fun, and makes some noise for Acadian culture. Maillardville wants to hear you!
