Blame Eve!
Migrations of the Female Soul

A powerful visual statement about women's experience and history.

Artist Zeid Founouni’s work aims at translating the human condition and emotions into stark physical forms in both painting and sculpture. Preferring to work on large surfaces and in life-size, he paints with both acrylic and oil on stretched canvas. His sculptures are mixed media assemblages, primarily of clay and found objects.

In Blame Eve!, Founouni explores the tradition and practice of blaming women for many of the ills that have defined the human condition. Through time and across cultures, these beliefs have been used as a justification for oppression and inequality.

In this exhibit Founouni seeks to highlight and illuminate some key stops along the migrations of the female soul.
