Welcome to Festival du Bois

Join the celebration of Canadian folk, Celtic and world music, dance, craft and food... All with a French twist! Everything is inside heated tents!

When I was a child I often heard my mother sing a song that went, "It's not everyday that we are 20 years old" Nothing is truer than those words; except that this year Festival du Bois IS twenty! We've had the pleasure of two decades of wonderful experiences: great music and dance and so much more. We invite you to come celebrate the spirit of our francophone community here in Maillardville with us - and to commemorate its 100th anniversary.

This year we want to share our history with you so that you too can better know and experience the rich fabric of our community. Since the beginning, Maillardville was a place where the fusion of many styles of music was a cause for celebration. The musical essences of India and China were mixed with Celtic and French Canadian sounds. We welcome you to our 20th festival, which features a variety of traditions with musical roots in our community. For your own pleasure and discovery, come hear the music of: De Temps Antan, BardeFou, Delhi 2 Dublin, Jou Tou - to name a few. For the young ones, there will be special performances in the Children's Tent. For those seeking deeper insights and understanding, there is the Workshop tent.

On SATURDAY NIGHT, MARCH 7: "The Big Night Out!" presents the gold-standard of Québec traditional music, the internationally-renowned La Bottine Souriante. This special evening of music opens with the young virtuosos of the North Shore & Coquitlam Celtic Ensemble. Great music, yes - and there will be dancing!

We hope you will join us at Festival du Bois to celebrate the joie de vivre of Maillardville together! Let the party begin!
