Exhibition "Maillardville, 100 and beyond"
As part of the Maillardville 100 year anniversary celebrations, Evergreen Cultural Centre in partnership with Festival du Bois will showcase an art project by French artist Florence Debeugny. "Maillardville 100 ans et plus / Maillardville 100 and beyond" captures the essence of this dynamic community through 200 black & white portraits of 100 people who have (or had) a connection with Maillardville. A booklet containing personal stories of the 100 people complements the portraits. The artist has also created a 16-minute multi media piece that combines historical photos and footage with a soundtrack of music, sounds of the past and words of the present.
