Story Time with Frenchie the Clown

The book “Be you!” celebrates with joy individuality and the importance of staying true to YOU! This brilliant text reminds us that each child is unique and special. It reminds readers to "be your own work of art” by being patient, persevering, sincere ... just themselves. Jacques et l'accordéon magique

As a tribute to the sugar season, Festival du Bois presents this special stop motion video entitled "Jacques and the Magic Accordion". It illustrates how traditional music and French culture are renewed every year in village festivals across the country - even here in Maillardville!

This family production was directed by 12-year-old Franco-Colombian artist, Aaliyah Tavernari. The accompanying song was generously provided by musician Roger Dallaire.

Jacques, the logger, discovers a mysterious accordion that magically awakens the long-awaited sweet spring! Every note, PLIC... PLOC... triggers the flow of sap from the maple trees!

The sugar season has come...

In March and April, a contagious joy fills the hearts of the locals! The sound of the accordion announces the melting of snow – a sweet tooth and sticky fingers!

It's time to celebrate in the village - and believe that the sun will come and there will be maple syrup all year round on the table.

And now a few words from the director . . .
